Armed with Brooks' most responsive cushioning, the Brooks Levitate 2 continues to be an excellent option for the runner that prefers a bouncy rather than soft everyday running shoe. The Levitate 2 features a DNA AMP cushioning system made up of a softer foam encased in a skin that resists horizontal expansion. Since the midsole cannot expand horizontally, the foam expands vertically which results in a spring-like effect in every step. With a new knit heel collar and the removal of all overlays, the Levitate 2's soft knit upper is more sock-like than ever. The addition of an internal bootie and a suede heel tab help take the Levitate 2's overall comfort to the next level. For added durability and flexibility, the Levitate 2's rubber outsole maintains its arrow-point pattern which transitions you from your heel to your forefoot quickly mile after mile.
What's New
The updated upper includes a slightly tweaked knit design, internal bootie, knit heel collar, and suede heel tab which all aim to reduce irritation and enhance comfort.
Midsole
DNA AMP cushioning system provides Brooks' highest amount of energy return, using a polyurethane midsole encased in a TPU skin that resists the expansion of the foam outwards, allowing the energy to be directed back upwards for an extremely energized ride.
Outsole
Midfoot Transition Zone uses an arrow-point rubber outsole design to help direct pressure towards the forefoot, providing flexibility while encouraging quick transitions from heel to toe.
Upper
FitKnit upper uses 3D circular knit to provide a plush fit designed to flex and hold the foot strategically as it moves.
